Yet another wedding season is on its way. Heather and Rob's wedding was on the hottest April day on record. I am constantly trying to get my stacked wedding cakes taller. The cake on the left has 3 additional cake boards in between each cake, each board being 15mm in height therefore raising each tier by 45mm. I thought Becky's wedding cake was possibly one of the prettiest wedding cakes this year. The combination of sugar roses daisies and gypsophila worked really well. I always enjoy creating cakes where it tells you something about the couple, this certainly was one such cake. I am slowly coming to the end of the really busy wedding season, its been a long and exceptionally busy summer. Just spent Sunday working out how to create a global sugar flower bouquet. It was relatively easy, although one had to be extra cautious not to break the flowers when pushing them into a polystyrene ball. Here is Preye and Kam's top tier cake. They bought their own Wilton topper, a wedding couple dancing. The couple were on a turning podium and lit up. Wilton toppers are always very sturdy and good quality, if you want to buy a already made cake topper, I would recommend them . I thought I would just give you a preview of this weeks work, it will be on my site tomorrow on the 2nd page of my Gallery page and it will be the Rimma cake. Rimma wanted a cake that could be seen from all sides. The cake was decorated so that you could see a bouquet from where ever you stood. This week I've been creating animals in sugar for the 75th Anniversary cake of Beaumont Animals' Hospital in London, it is part of the Royal Veterinary College, University of London. This is my busiest week-end of the year so far. Two stacked wedding cakes. The first one to be delivered was Catherine's. I always enjoy making fun wedding cakes, such as this one, the parcel cake. Janette's colour scheme was gold, ivory and chocolate brown, a very effective combination. I am always amazed at how time consuming these cakes are, especially when using edible metallic colours, as you have to paint those on which isn't easy! I was pleased with the bouquet of Roses, Hypericum, Freesias and Veronicas.Back

I don't know how many people watched The Apprentice tv show 2 days ago on BBC TV, but I think most of them have rung me! I must have been one of the few people who didn't see it, but the result of attempting to sell wedding cakes at wedding fairs - 0 sold-did not suprise me!My experience of these shows is pretty much as retold by viewers of the TV show - loads of nice comments, lots of questions,

Today I delivered Pinar's wedding cake. The London Marriott at Grosvenor square is always a spectacular venue. Compliments as always to Tony Vourou the wedding coordinator - he does such a good job! One tier of the cake was fruit and the other two were carrot. It was iced in ivory icing with ivory edible pearls and white sugar roses. Here is a preview of it.

Len and Jim asked me to create their civil ceremony cake - the theme, ivory and blue, simple classic, with roses and sublty piped message of good wishes on top. This was the result. nice cake?

Lindy was my latest happy bride - She chose the Siarra cake from my portfolio at weddingcakedesign.net. Themed with their reception colour scheme of gold and ivory, The Bride and Groom's cake looked very at home! no pictures this time - perhaps Lindy will come here and let me have one of hers; I forgot my camera!

The wedding cupcakes were a success...Lots of the guests apparently took their cake home, so It could be that the wedding cake can - in the right circumstances - save on the expense of those favors! My latest wedding cupcakes are being eaten tonight, at a veneue in north london; They were fun to do, and worth the effort. The mini cupcakes were chocolate sponge, with a white, caramel and dark chocolate casing. and the sugar gerberas in pink, orange and yellow are always eye catching, are they not? please let me have your thoughts on them!

A significant day tomorrow...my son reaches the grand old age of 18, and suddenly I have no children, only a house full of adults.
